For a very long time, top 40 charts were the measure of success in the rock and pop business. Getting your song on the charts meant sales, and that got airplay and more sales.
Sometimes songs get on the top 40 more than once, and those appearances can be many years apart.
We play some great chart comebacks this week, including Running Up That Hill, by Kate Bush. Number three on first release in 1985, the song climbed to number one a couple of weeks ago, after being used in the Netflix show, Stranger Things.
Among other things, it sets a new record for the longest journey to the number one spot, 37 years.
